I started getting involved in sports and fitness in 2nd grade...going to basketball camps and running in the junior olympics. While in high school, I suffered from a serious knee injury during a basketball game. I was not able to have surgery and fix my knee because I was too young and still growing so in order to be able to play again, I went through a year of physical therapy. I was able to come back with a knee brace and play. As I grew older, the ligaments in my knee grew weaker and my knee would "pop" out of place. At 29, I decided to visit my doctor again to see what my options were for the future. He didn't give me any options. He said I needed surgery immediately to fix my knee so it did not get any worse. I went through another 6 months of physical therapy and got to the point where I was starting to jog again. Then, something else bad happened...I started getting horrible headaches. Headaches that lasted 24/7 and all I could do was lay on the couch. I saw various doctors and they prescribed all kinds of medications that didn't work. Then I saw a chiropracter for 2 years that did help a bit but never completely got rid of my headaches. I also saw a neurological chiropracter for a couple months and also a neurologist. Sports/Fitness had been my life and 5 years had passed where I had hardly been able to exercise. I decided that I was going to go see a personal trainer to see if they could help me because I felt like I was running out of options and I didn't know what else to do. I called a couple places but Dan at Body Symmetry really sounded like he was very educated and knowledgeable so I signed up with him. He has helped me strengthen my knee better than it has been in a long time and my headaches are almost completely gone. I feel like a different person. I was so inspired by how much Dan has helped me that I have decided to get my personal trainer certification so that I will be able to help other people as much as Dan has helped me.

My wife and I realized that we are coming into a new chapter in our lives and marriage; now that our children have left home. We have more free time and yes, a bit more money! We’re now talking about real vacations, and activities that we only dreamed about when had to be responsible to our off spring and their rearing. Over the years we have developed a few physical concerns. The wife, having my children and trying to finish her degree, had to sacrifice her private time of personal care and workouts; which has resulted in her being a little self-conscious. My concerns were injuries from sports, construction and my current occupation as a police officer, which all equated to a high level of pain and damage to my body. I was beginning to believe that I would have to live a life of pain and limited activity. When we met Dan Ross, the owner of Body Symmetry, he listened intently to both of our concerns, desires and needs. The wife’s dream was to get back into her pre-child rearing body, and me, to stop the pain and build muscle that I hadn’t seen in years. Dan carefully and passionately explained the value of a good nutrition plan and workout so she could meet her goals. Dan has not only developed a workout for me, but as I progressed and became stronger he adjusted the workout for continued strengthening. It seemed as if Dan had made it his own personal goal to stop my pain and build my energy, the physical state I feared I would never enjoy again. I believe that Dan Ross’ experience, education and deep passion in his profession has given me hope for many years of pain free activity. Oh yah, the wife is very excited about her physical gains and is getting a little cocky about her last up coming high school reunion. We encourage anyone and everyone to visit Dan, tell him your concerns and dreams, and let him explain how he can make your desires be a reality. Thanks Dan and Ann
Pros: Health, Energy, Strength, Stopping the Pain
Cons: None

I met Daniel (Owner of Body Symmetry) at Bear Creek Park, where our daughters play soccer. When I asked Dan what he did to stay in shape, he told me about Body Symmetry. I didn't consider myself a candidate for personal training. Too athletic, intense, not my style - you name it, I had many reasons not to try the experience. Then last August I decided I was done carrying the extra weight I had gained and held on to since having my babies who were then 6 and 4. When I first met with Dan, he kept asking me every time I saw him, "How is your nutrition?" I told him he could stop with that question until after Christmas! By January, 2008, I was ready to start making changes in my diet because even though my workouts were helping me feel stronger, I was not making any strides in my weight loss. I learned about fruits, almonds, almond butter, dark German wheat breads, and about making sure that carbs, proteins, and lean fats were part of every meal. I also learned that I needed to eat more often throughout the day. Breakfast has turned into my favorite meal of the day. Before, I may not have eaten in the morning. Now I enjoy Kashi go-lean cereal with 1/2 cup fresh blue berries, toast, and egg whites cooked with tomatoes, chilies and rice cheese. Yum! I also try to keep carbs to a minimum in the evening. My Secret to Success: The "secret" to my success is no secret really. It is continuity and mommy's time out. Knowing I am meeting my trainer and the other women I work out with is an appointment I cannot allow myself to miss. As a mother of young children, I thrive on this little piece of “me” time and I always feel better after the workout than I did when I first arrived. Thanks to Dan for getting me to come in and to Anne who has stayed with me through the struggle. To everyone at Body Symmetry, I couldn't have done this without your support! Karen

Dear Daniel and Anne: I am a senior citizen and when I first started to work out at Body Symmetry I had back, neck and shoulder pain all day long, as well as having my bones get weak from my age and osteoporosis. Daniel and Anne had worked in developing an exercise program two times a week that worked at reducing my pain 80% in a 3 month time frame. I can now go on walks and play with my grandchildren as I could not do this before the training program. I just want to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to fit me in on my schedule for the exercise and nutrition program that met my needs. Thanks Again Helen R
Pros: Helped me reduce pain, flexable, clean
Cons: no

Body Symmetry is the real deal. I've lived in Colorado Springs for 24 years and Body Symmetry is the first private training studio I've found that exceeds my expectations. The trainers all have advanced degrees, the training programs are creative, challenging, and well-balanced, the equipment is first-rate and the facility is spotless. I went to Body Symmetry for a jump-start in my fitness routine and walked out with a long-term training and nutrition plan. Dan, the owner, called the day after my first couple training sessions to check-in to see how I was feeling. They don't miss a thing! I would recommend this studio for first-time exercisers all the way up to professional athletes. Dan and his staff have experience with all levels. We are lucky to have a training studio with this caliber of professionals in Colorado Springs. You won't be disappointed!
Pros: knowledge, experience, location, equipment, challenging but fun
Cons: none

This is not a “review” but a response to bhoc22 who wrote a “bogus” review about our business. First of all, this service is reserved for people who have actually used the service and go on the site to discuss their experience. Using the site without actually trying the service is wrong; it is like giving a restaurant a bad review that you have never actually eaten at. Whoever you are, we can guarantee you that these reviews are REAL as are our clients. As a matter of fact, I would cordially like to invite you to our facility to meet some of these reviewers and hear from them in person how much they enjoy and respect our services. To make a statement that our reviews are false is mean spirited and malicious defamation based on your warped opinion with no validity to it, as YOU have stated “ YOU HAVE NEVER USED OUR SERVICE”.In response to your “con” remark, let me ask you this: what is shady about a fitness business that is actually owned and ran by a husband and wife team who actually have several COLLEGE DEGREES in the industry and over 34 years of training and rehab experience? I will tell you what a SCAM is: it is a trainer whose whole education is a “certification” that required no formal education or practical experience and is probably one of the over 100 certifications that are not legit and anyone, and I mean anyone, can obtain. Then these so called “experts” charge $50-$100 plus an hour and have no more qualifications than my 10 year old son.Obviously you are a mean spirited person with a lot of time on your hands to write such gibberish. When we ask our clients to write reviews, they genuinely love our facility and services. The reasons we get 5 star reviews is because we are actually responsible, educated professionals who go above and beyond in customer service for our clients. We get results. You shouldn’t write negative things about something you know nothing about and very obviously have never tried, as you stated.
Pros: Educated and professional

First of all, I have never used this service. However, I am looking for a personal trainer. Now, look at ALL these reviews carefully. NONE of them have any cons (except cheesy stuff like "I wish I could go everyday" and they all sound the same. They all have the same sentence structure (one solid paragraph, etc). And they all rated it 5 stars. Very few services on this site get ALL 5 star reviews. Look, this might be a great place. But so far I don't trust them because it looks like one of their employees wrote 10 different reviews to drum up some positive feedback. Take this into consideration before choosing these traners. I know I will.
Pros: None to list... haven't used their services
Cons: Seem shady and not good enough to rely on REAL reviews. Need to make false reviews

I heard about Body Symmetry from a friend of mine and decided to give them a try. I was looking for a trainer that would not only motivate me, but also have a level of knowledge about fitness and health that would help me achieve my goals. After having several children I no longer felt I was in the shape I used to be. I started working out with Anne and her knowledge of fitness and post-natal fitness was great. Not only did she help me get my “pre-baby” body back, the workout was always challenging and fun. I have equipment at home and belong to a gym, but the private setting and appointments help keep me on track. I enjoy the personalized attention and professionalism that I get at Body Symmetry. Anne is very reliable and flexible, unlike trainers I had in the past that “blew me off” and did not make me feel like a priority. I highly recommend Body Symmetry, a great place to get in shape. Susan
Pros: Great facility, great atmosphere and great personalities.
Cons: none

I knew I needed to get in shape and get healthy, but I was not sure where to start. I came across Body Symmetry while searching for personal trainers on the internet. Their credentials and knowledge impressed me, and I knew when looking for a personal trainer the first thing I should look for is a College Degree in Fitness. Not only was Dan extremely knowledgeable, I also learn so much during our training sessions. I have tried working out in the past by myself or with “certified” trainers and have gotten little or no results. Not only do I feel better, but Dan’s knowledge from his Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine has helped me finally achieve pain free exercise. The studio is always clean and very professionally run, CLEARLY the best studio in the Springs, Very highly recommended. Donna
Pros: great results, outstanding personalities, fun, clean
Cons: none

When I first came to Body Symmetry I was skeptical about how I could lose weight based on nutrition and exercise, Dan had designed a program specifically for me and taught me that through exercise and proper nutrition I could still enjoy my life while taking care of my body. I had also had some old injuries from playing volleyball in high school that would often bother me, Dan’s program was designed to help stabilize my ligaments while toning my muscles and today I do not have any more pain in my shoulders. I would recommend Body Symmetry to anyone and everyone who wants to get more out of life than just living. Sheri
Pros: clean, friendly, educated, worth every penny
Cons: none
