The cusine was superb. The French Onion soup was among the best that I have ever had, the prime rib was succulent. The service was also outstanding and seating prompt. The ambiance is bit outdated, yet relaxing. The brunch has all you can eat crab legs and shrimp and you do not have to pay extra for the champagne like the broadmoor. Conclusion: Wonderful food, good service, and prices that are on a par with other good restaurants.
Pros: Seafood and carving stations
Cons: none

From the moment my wife and I pulled in to the parking lot we were pleased with the appearance and the views. There was a Jazz band playing in the bar. The water fall and lights outside looked great. We were seated in three minutes and recieved our drinks promptly. The garlic bread and soup were both excellent. We had Sirloin with mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables. We also had the salmon salad which was delicious. I have already recommended this restaurant to many of my friends. I read some of the past reviews and was rather sceptical about the new management, but it seems they are doing an outstanding job.
Pros: Excellent views and atmosphere!
Cons: Get your wallet out.

My husband took me to the Sunbird for my 36th Birthday, and it was a blessing indeed! Outside the front entrance is a beautiful waterfall. We walked through the front door, and they took our name promptly. It took them under 5 minutes to seat us, and we were seated in a romantic dining room with just the right lighting for the evening. The jazz band played in the back ground as we chatted... which was very soothing; yet, refreshing. I absolutely loved the atmosphere!!!! The service was prompt and very professional. The food melted in my mouth. After eating, we took our wine and headed outside. We sat underneathe the stars and overlooked Colorado in the late evening hours. It was just the right kind of place to get re-connected with one another. We were checked up on a couple of times by staff and was very well taken care of. What a wonderful night. Needless to say, my hubby got a lot more than brownie points for that evening. Women, have your men take you to this place....in my opinion, it is a place worth remembering!

Nice view, relaxed atmosphere, great food and good service. There was live music on Friday night, a Jazz band that was very popular and made the lounge rock.
Pros: Food, View - music, Service

When I read the article in Gazette newspaper voting the Sunbird Brunch as best of the springs in 2005, above a 5-star and 4-star resorts, I was not completely sold on the place until I had dinner there. Yes indeed, best of the springs.
Pros: Service, Food, View
Cons: NOt sure if any

October of 2004. We loved the view; rest was terrible. It took over 45 minutes to get out appetizers only to find the whole thing was cold. Even the stuffed mushrooms were cold. We all ordered the prime rib. Actually had to ask the waitress for our food after waiting for an hour. When it came out the foood had obviously been just sitting there. My fathers 16 oz prime rib was noticably smaller than my 10oz. After complaining to manager, he told us that "in the finer restaurants, people should expect to savour and wait for their meal." We told them that any restaurants when the meal did arrive, people should expect their food to be warm & what you ordered. I refuse to go back to a restaurant that cannot provide service and food even on par with that of a Chili's.
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything else

The Sunbird is under new management, who has hired a new chef. I had dinner there last night and the cusine was superb. The French Onion soup was among the best that I have ever had, the asparagus was aldente and presented with hollandaise sauce on a roasted half squash, and the prime rib was succulent, served with Yorkshire Pudding, au jus. The service was also outstanding and seating prompt. The ambiance is outdated, stuck in a dark 70's mood time warp, but it is much more tolerable in the daylight. Of course, the Sunbird also has outdoor dining. Hopefully the owners will allow the new management to spruce up the joint. Conclusion: Wonderful cusine, good service, and prices that are on a par with other good restaurants, but go in the daylight.
Pros: cuisene , service, view
Cons: , tired ambiance
