Yes there is wine here, however do not let that compensate for rude service! My server was too busy flirting with a customer at the bar to notice when we needed more drinks or more tapas. Yes the food is unique and delicious, but she had the nerve to get upset when we motioned for her service!
Pros: awesome food
Cons: horrible service

The service was so-so. The food was terrible and the menu did not correlate to what we were actually served. The price was way too high for the bad tasting subpar food that we were served and the portions were tiny. The menu sounds good but my order was missing items that were listed as being in the dish on the menu. The only reason we went there was because we were given a gift card but im glad we didnt actually waste our own money on this place. We will not be back.
Pros: wine
Cons: everything

Blue Star is a restaurant that is trying to be upscale and "Big Time" but is not even close to being there. The concept is good: elegant interior, extensive wine list, valet parking, coat check, etc. But, the staff is overwhelmed and management is trying to run a Saturday night operation with a Tuesday night staff. In reality the valet attendant was a ghost, not to be found. The hostess lost the keys to the coat check closet. Despite making specific reservations for an Anniversery they overbooked for 2 Christmas parties and tried to seat us in the bar next to a family with a screaming baby, We had to talk to the manager to get a decent table. The Osso Bucco had about 3 ounces of meat on it at best, the before dinner drink came an hour later, and then we were overcharged. In the end we spent $120 for 2 including wine but several days later found our credit card charged for $210 with three seperate charges. We are now having to dispute the charges, what a hassle. If you are going to spend $120 on dinner there are so many places in the Springs that will beat Blue Star out in terms of service and price. I was warned in advance that the service was bad but ignored it--I shouldn't have. Buyer beware. Really disappointing.

Seems to be an attempt at California Trendy, but nobody is getting it right. I won't say much more because the two other reviews before me said most of what I expereinced and this place is not worth my time and absolutely not worth my money or yours
Pros: ????
Cons: too numerous to mention

This place is so cute, but what a let down. We sat in the "formal" dining area. The first thing our server said to us was not to worry because it's not as formal as people think it is. What? I found this to be confusing. Why am I paying so much for something that isn't special? Go ahead and treat me well. She was inappropriate, too casual and trying to be funny (I guess) when I was looking for a romantic, special meal. The food was disappointing at every level. I ordered a cocktail from their speciality martini menu. It was so bad I had to send it back. I have never in my life sent a drink back. The first course we ordered was the scallops. They were overcooked (a bad move with scallops) and for $14 you got 2 scallops. Don't get me wrong-in the right place and done well I would have been happy to pay that much, but what a ripoff! I ordered a filet mignon, as did my husband. If you can't get the steak right you might as well hang it up. It was overcooked and bland. And dessert...the waitress reccommended a "tawny" port. When she brought it out it was ruby. These are the details you really should get right for this price. When we politely pointed this out the waitress became argumentative. Now, I am certain she was joking and in another environment it could have been funny. But, with a $200 dollar bill on the way I expected more a higher level of professionalism than that. Save your money. Take it elsewhere.
Cons: Food, service

too long to get seated with open tables, loud and not even busy and half decent food is not what I expected. A good reputation, by why?

I recently read in the gazette that the blue star was top notch and voted best dining of 2006, so I decided to try it out. What I found was absolute dissapointment. It seems as if they have better things to do then cook and serve their guests. The food was cold and my steak was not cooked to temp. My server was busy socialiszing with another server instead of taking care of us. The food was very confusing, trying to be differnet I suppose, so here's some advice, don't try to be different, try to be good.
Cons: food, service

As a frequent diner and reviewer on this website it seems i write the same thing over and over. what is it about this city where hardly anyone can get the food right. I was served a very cold steak, and when I asked for it to be warmed up it took another twenty minutes to come back. While my waitress was very kind, and obviously very upset and embarresssed about the situation, nothing was done. The management here should be embarressed.
Pros: service, bar
Cons: food, parking

Best place in town for my money. One of the few places with style and high quality. It has both a formal dinning area and bar dining area. Excellent beers from their neighbor next door Bristol Brewing.
Pros: easy to get to, not another chain, panache
