God bless Dr. Dobson and Focus on the Family for so much of the wonderful work they have done over the many years! But, my wife and I are increasingly concerned about their growing tendency to compromise on moral/political strategy. 15 years ago, Dr. Dobson made a public pledge before many thousands in D.C. and before the nation, to never again support any politician who would compromise on the killing of even one unborn child. A year and a half ago, Dobson stated in writing (on offiicial Focus letterhead) that he has spurned that pledge, and believes God is leading him to "compromise" (his word, not mine) on this issue for political gain. And yet, last I heard, Focus still shows the video of his pledge from 15 years ago on their tour, as if Dobson and Focus still stand by that. But when they support our openly pro-choice president (who opposed the abortion ban in S. Dakota last year), and pro-abortion judges like Samuel Alito (a 100% pro-abortion record on the circuit bench), pro-abortion rulings like the recent, horrendous partial-birth abortion ruling, and even stand by openly pro-choice organizations like "National Right to Life," it is hard to understand this new direction that Dobson and Focus are taking, while at the same time deriding pro-life organizations right here in our state such as Colorado Right To Life. Perhaps most disturbing, Focus recently officially put out blatantly false info on the PBA ban ruling, claiming it banned "all late-term abortions," specifically all 3rd trimester abortions, when in fact, the ruling doesn't even ban ANY late-term abortions, whatsoever. Eventually, Focus has now admitted the ruling doesn't stop one single abortion in America. We love Dr. Dobson and Focus and are praying for them, and we hope they will realize the dangerous path they've begun to take, and that they will turn back and lead us again as they did so wonderfully in the past.
Pros: Great family issues info, used to be great on pro-life issues
Cons: increasingly compromised on "thou shalt not murder"
