Editorial Review for Gold's Gym – by Drew Pisarra
In Short
The Terminator and the Incredible Hulk (aka Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno) lifted weights at the gym's Venice, California, flagship years ago, but even today, customers frequenting charter locations are bound to encounter serious muscle. Take note: The boys with bulging biceps are the mascots, not the majority. Gold's generally offers Spinning, aerobics and kickboxing classes, yet weight-training remains the core of the program. Dumbbells and barbells, not spa-like amenities, are the attractions that draw the beef-heads in droves.

The new Gold's Gym on Union and Brairgate Blvd is AWESOME. It has a full basketball court, beautiful pool, three group exercise studios (one dedicated to Yoga and Pilates). The weight training area is big and spacious, They have over 150 pieces of cardio equipment, even a "cardio cinema" which is a movie theatre with cardio equipment. The only word I can think of to describe Gold's Gym is AWESOME
Pros: AWESOME
Cons: There is only one of them right now

Gold's Gym is opening a new 55,000 sqaure foot super club. The new club on Union and Briargate Blvd (where the big safeway used to be) will have. A swimming pool, steam room, sauna, and whirlpool. It will also have three group excercise studios(offering everything from step, and cycling to hot yoga, and even aqua classes in the pool). Over 170 cardio pieces in three areas one of them a cardio cinema with a 16 foot movie theatre screen. The club will also have a full basketball court and two racquetball courts. The kids activity center will be quite big and have interactive games for the kids to play. Not to mention the tons of free weight and circuit training area. they even have a womans only area (for those that may be a little intimidated). But the best part is that the owners live right here in Colorado Springs. Not only that but they work at their club. Imagine not being told that your request needs to go to a corporate office. But rather actually having a say in how YOUR club is run. I can hardly wait!
Pros: LOCALLY OWNED
Cons: they are opening in early 08 (I can hardly wait)
